Al-Ahsa lies in the Eastern Province, a vast agricultural oasis surrounded by the extending desert. It is home to around four million palm trees producing some of the finest dates in the world, the most famous of which is the Khalas date. It is distinguished by its captivating nature, fertile lands, abundant underground springs and fresh water, and historical sites that bear witness to the history of many civilizations.
Al-Ahsa Oasis was added to the UNESCO World Heritage list, and it also entered the Guinness World Records as the largest palm oasis in the world. When visiting the oasis, do not miss the chance to relax in the open air at Al-Ahsa National Park, or at the Yellow Lake in the heart of the desert.
As for shopping enthusiasts, they will find what meets their expectations in the markets of Al-Ahsa, such as Al-Ahsa Mall, or Al-Qaisariya Market in the center of Hofuf, a historic market spread with shops selling handicrafts, oils, perfumes, and much more. The market was built long ago according to the architectural style of the Al-Ahsa region.
